CONTINENTAL GRAND PRIX ATTACK III
The Conti GP Attack is a front tire for real race bikes. Especially combined with the Grand Prix Force III it develops his full performance on tarmac, when the chase for seconds starts.
The streamlined tire shape provides easier cornering for best agility. The Grand Prix Attack III benefits from its special Black Chili version offering the 23 mm front tire more grip with lower rolling resistance.
It consists of 3 plies for an overall casing density of 330 tpi.
Further more it features Vectran™ puncture protection, a protective belt of super strong and extremely lightweight material beneath the bead. Wear levels can be easily monitored via indicators in the tread, details that show professionals are at work!
Technologies of Conti GP Attack III
This unique tread rubber mixture which is only produced in Continental German factory has revolutionized bicycle tyres. The resultant compound showed a new relationship between grip and rolling resistance. This “Elevated level”, as it was previously known, was given the name “BlackChili”. The latest polymers, nanoscale soot particles and optimized fillers all guarantee a unique performance.
BlackChili Compound improves rolling resistance by 26% and provides 30% more grip than activated silica compounds. Premium tyres with BlackChili Compound also impress with higher mileage and unlike many multi-compounds, provide a constant ride from the first to the last kilometer.
Vectran™ is a synthetically manufactured high-tech fibre from a natural model. Like spider silk, Vectran™ is a liquid-crystalline polymer (LCP), spun from Vectra. Processed the result is a thread that is thermoplastic and has multifilaments. This semicrystalline material is harder then aramid, has five times higher tensile strength than steel and in addition, is also lighter than comparable nylon thread. Vectran™ maintains these attributes even in the most adverse weather conditions without influencing the rolling resistance negatively.
With the TyrePositioningSystem®, the last little bit of what is currently technically possible has been exploited. The result is a pioneering front tyre and rear tyre system for road racing; to be found in GP Attack and Force combination. Motorcyclists have known for a long time: Different demands are made on a front tyre than on its rear counterpart.
The narrower front tyre provides reduced wind resistance and better handling. An adhesion-optimized tread mixture supplies the necessary grip especially for wet cornering. The wide rear tyre offers better traction thanks to a larger contact area and at the same time more comfort. Thanks to the fast rolling, optimized tread mixture and the larger contact area on the rear tyre, wear is reduced.
